Craig Ferguson: Behind the scenes of his new opening

Here's a fun video featuring some behind the scenes footage of Craig Ferguson's new, extra-fancy high definition opening sequence:

Last night was Ferguson's first "Late Late Show" in high def. Now the major programs remaining are "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report," which are reportedly scheduled to debut in HD early in 2010, and "Last Call with Carson Daly," for which no date has been announced.

Might be some local problems, but the studio seemed even darker to me than it usually was. Clear and sharp, sure but dark as hell (if hell in fact existed and was very very dark).

Intro is awesome, although might be too over the top for a late late night talk show, but who cares.

Studio did look rather dark. I really enjoy the new intro too. Nice to see some puppet love. I also find it funny that the studio is still falling apart (although there are two new lights). :D

Here in Connecticut, my local CBS station (WFSB) did not show last night's episode in 16:9 HD. It was still in 4:3 SD for some reason.

I've been calling and emailing the station about it, and I'm hoping they've gotten the message to fix it so it can be in HD from now on. I'm not sure what to do if that doesn't work though. Probably nothing I can do.

The new logo is almost exactly like Dave's Late Show logo. Which makes since, I guess, but I still was a little surprised.

Its great that the show has finally gone HD, but whats with the new logo? it does look WAY too similar to Lettermans.

With all the money these shows make, youd think they could pay for graphic designers coming up with something thats a bit of a step up from the older format or at least a bit of an innovation from other shows.
