I partially agree with the above comment. To give a show an award for THAT many years in a row, doesnt make sense to me. Give others a chance for crying out loud.

That said, from what I hear and lil Ive seen of Jon Stewart, he hosts a great show, with a humongoid following, so it makes sense its popularity and quality have brought it the award for so long and over and over again. But yeah...SEVEN years? In a ROW? come on.

I admit I was disappointed when the Late Show didnt win anything, but (as cliche as it sounds), Im happy to know they are at least constantly nominated.

I am little disappointed that the late show with David letterman did not win any awards yesterday although they were nominated in 5 different categories.
I would give the writing category award to daily show but no way on hell -daily show is funnier than late show with david letterman.
7 years in a row --i mean...come on??? Even late night with david letterman in 80's did not win 7 emmys in a row--which in my opinion was the best variety show in past 30 years & the show that changed television forever.
Right now there is so much competition in variety shows unlike in 80's or 90's ---letterman, conan, kimmel, bill maher, leno, craig, jimmy fallon, carson daly, and hundreds of talk shows on cable.
To give one show an award 7 years in a row --the show has to be crazy crazy crazy crazy good. I would give the daily show emmys in 2004, 2006, and maybe 2008 which were election years and they did really good on those years, but other years, the show is just about an average or boring.
Can you tell me any memorial moments from daily show from last year--maybe the CNBC incident is one -but that's about it.
As far as Late show with letterman--i can name quite a few--mccain incident, phoenix, rod blago, howard stern interviews and many more....also many top ten segments and other usual stuff.
